Devil's in the Details

This look is hot as hell. Literally, I want to wear red on my eyes everyday! The color wheel is not kidding when putting two contrasting colors next to each other, I've never seen my eyes look so green in my life. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I usually never do cliche Halloween looks, after being gone for half of October I guess I am just off of my game - so super basic it is. The great news is that it's super easy to recreate, even if you don't have red eyeshadow (the closest I had was a bright orange) but be careful, I used red lipstick as a base on my eyelids and I know some red pigments can cause allergies.

After scrounging through what seemed to be 1000 #devilmakeup hashtags I decided to stick with a monochromatic look, in my opinion, devil make up can come off looking so cheap. I guess it's one of those where anything goes since there is only literature or someone's interpretation to go off of what an actual devil may appear like. I wanted to create this make up look using products I had -- to show that anyone with basic products can recreate it, my only regret is not getting red glitter to tie in with the sequin horns.

Every time I think of bold brows and red lips I immediately gravitate towards Robert Palmer's 'Simply Irresistible' video (yes I know, before my time). The girls all have these beautiful cherry lips and strong 80's brows. This was the base of my inspiration, to "scare" it up a bit I chose to make the entire lid red and add a smokey wing, add a strip of lashes, line the water line, and voila!

For the face I used my tried and true Make Up Forever HD Stick which I am really loving in photographs. Applied contour and highlight as usual and a dark red blush to really emphasize that monochrome look.

The lips were extremely easy thanks to all the new matte liquid lipsticks on the market -- topped off with a bullet lipstick (same one I used for the eyes) and used a darker shade in the corners to provide some definition.

Bored of "Instagram" Make Up

After a bit of self reflection on the style of my work I have come to the realization I am most comfortable and my best work is usually on the "softer side" of make up styles. Which is actually comica
