The Perfect Bridal Glow

September 7, 2016

In a sea full of overly contoured faces and lashes that are so long they hit your forehead it is refreshing to see nice, dewy skin and bright but defined eyes. To me that is the epitome of bridal glam. Individual lashes and a quality highlighter are the key here. Unless you wear a heavy cat eye and bright red lips on the daily, I tend to advise my clients to go more natural than they think. With a few tricks to make things pop, the look can really come across as striking while still looking but feeling like the best version of yourself.

This look was inspired by Natasha Denona's infamous glow while also referencing Victoria's Secret girl-next-door approachability. The main focus was the skin, using Becca liquid highlight in Moonstone on top of the YSL touche éclat (old formula) foundation along with Becca poured pigment in Pearl we were able to achieve luminosity without having an unflattering streak of highlight on the high points of the face (brow bone, tops of the cheeks, tip of the nose and cupids bow). Cohesiveness is my pet peeve when it comes to the face. Everything must look like it's melted together.

The model has the most stunning eye color and shape, I didn't want to distract from that by adding dark colors or a harsh line. So I chose a soft smokey look which is what I favor 90% of the time since it is so flattering on various ages and eye shapes. Using the Lorac Pro 2 Palette, which includes cool moody tones, I lifted the eyes by creating depth in the crease and highlighting the center of the lid and inner corner. I finished by adding Bobbi Brown gel liner in black just along the lash-line and topping that off with a mix of Ardell Individuals knot-free (very important) Medium, Long and Double Medium. Yes you read that correctly, double the thickness on one bunch of individual lash. These little guys make the biggest difference since you can really add length and fullness to wherever you desire without having to layer.

To finish, I lined the lips with MAC Subculture topped off with a mix of MAC Fleshpot lipstick and MAC Creme Cup. Spritzed with a mixture of MAC Fix+ and Urban Decay All Nighter spray to leaving the skin looking fresh but locking the products in place. Don't forget to highlight the shoulders and décolleté if you are wearing a strapless gown.
